Woodlake is a hotspot for a wonderful variety of birds that visit throughout the year, including herons, egrets, warblers, flycatchers, cranes, ducks, cormorants, kingfishers, ibis, pelicans, geese, owls, roadrunners, and many more. Some have made the area their home, while others are simply passing through. But perhaps the most notable visitor is the bald eagle.
For many years, Woodlake has been a favorite fishing spot for this majestic bird. You may see it perched regally among the treetops, surveying the lake, or skimming across the water as it swoops down to catch a fish.
The picnic tables in the Commons area provide a perfect vantage point for watching the many bird species that frequent our lake. Grab a snack, bring your binoculars, and take a little time to enjoy nature at its best!
