Since we haven’t seen much activity on the Greens Prairie Road widening project recently—and because the project will impact our front entrance and require the removal of our neighborhood signage—we wanted to provide an update from the City of College Station.
According to the City, all necessary right-of-way (ROW) acquisitions and easements have been completed. The utility relocations that recently took place at our front entrance were for Frontier Communications. The remaining water-line relocations for the Wellborn Special Utility District still need to be worked out before the project can be put out for construction bids.
The project was originally scheduled to begin construction in the fall of 2026, but the current timeline indicates that construction may be pushed to spring 2027 or later.
